NASHVILLE, Tenn. - (October 8, 2013) After nearly a decade with the Canadian pop-rock band Hawk Nelson, JASON DUNN has opened a new musical chapter in his life. His first solo single, "Insecurity," will be released on iTunes on Friday, October 11. He debuted the song on Twitmusic, where it landed in the top 5 the first week on the charts. The track continues to be one of the hottest trending songs impacting Christian Hot AC radio. (Editor's Note: The song "Insecurity" is also part of the free Jesusfreakhideout.com compilation, Songs We've Been Trying To Tell You About (And Others We Haven't), Volume Three, which released June 11th, 2013. The theme of the song is bound to relate to today's youth on many levels. "'Insecurity' is a song about bullying. I wanted to release it in October, during National Bullying Prevention Month, to help raise awareness of the need for bullying prevention in schools, online and even at home," says Dunn. This upbeat, eclectic mix of pop, punk and rock delivers a message of hope and encourages the listener that they are not alone.

Though Dunn lives in New York with his wife Lenay (host of MTV's 10 on Top), he spent December 2012 in a Nashville studio crafting "Insecurity" and the rest of the tracks for his forthcoming full length debut album, ABANDON PROGRESS, with Grammy®-nominated songwriter and producer Aaron Rice (tobyMac, Mandisa, Rachael Lampa) at the helm. The album has many songs about hope that come after making a life-changing transition from founder and frontman of the Grammy® and Dove Award-nominated group Hawk Nelson to a solo career.

"It's been quite an interesting couple of years for me," says Dunn. "I quit a band that was doing well for themselves to start all over again, working my way from the ground up."

The musician's longplayer is a blend of pop and rock, with musical influences that range from Maroon 5 to Boys Like Girls to Hawk Nelson. The album will be released by The Paradigm Collective first quarter 2014.

"I'm really excited to go out on the road again too," says Dunn. "That passion I had when I first started touring has returned to me, maybe more than ever. As well as writing a record, I've been putting together a great rock show for my audience that I hope they will enjoy." Currently Dunn is on the 25-city Water Tour with Nine Lashes, and will be back in action on tour with KJ-52 and Royal Tailor this winter.

Dunn has also launched the Jason Dunn Diabetes Foundation, a non-profit organization whose mission is to enhance and change the lives of children and young adults living with diabetes. For more information on how to help, visit www.jasondunnfoundation.com.
